(Senior) IT Consultant SAP Basis (m/f)
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
Steer and lead the global and business critical IT platform SAP from a technical point of view. Support the integration harmonization and realization of the future Integration environment as key enabler for the Global IT strategy (Run with IT).
Assignments fall under a broad spectrum of tasks related to the entire life cycle of applications from deployment through exploitation to phase out. He/she also can be assigned a significant responsibility within a program or large-scale project with direct or indirect responsibilities for people and budgets. The overall purpose of these assignments is to carry out tasks with a high degree of competence and professionalism so that information needs within the international context of the adidas-Group AG can be met.
SAP Technology IT Consultant is responsible to provide tactical advise and guide operational support tasks to the entire landscape, being central contact person for any support or demand requests:
- SAP Netweaver Solution Support
- SAP Netweaver Design Architect
In this role the Senior Consultant needs to ensure smooth transition from SAP NetWeaver project demand delivery and implementation to SAP NetWeaver solution operation.
Key Responsibilities:
The role assignment is in line with the ITIL framework.
SAP NetWeaver Solution Support
- With the assigned role as IT Business Continuity Manager he is responsible for managing risks that could seriously impact IT services. He ensures that the IT service provider can provide minimum agreed service levels in cases of disaster, by reducing the risk to an acceptable level and planning for the recovery of IT services.
- Identifying at the early beginning support requirements from the SAP Technology Team and support that appropriate internal and external resources are staffed.
- Implement and support operation harmonization efforts on a global scale.
- Manage local or global business demands, issues resolutions and escalations.
- Coordination of activities between CC’s, Infrastructure, Service Provider, SAP and third party vendors.
- Act as the guardian of the productive SAP environments, responsible for driving the approval of proposed changes.
- Understand the SAP software’s functional and technical touch points across the system.
- Investigate new SAP technology for potential system improvement or optimization.
SAP NetWeaver Design Architect
- Acting as Business / Technical Analyst he develops the process to gather and document integration requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technology specification, including system architecture, implementation effort, resource requirement and cost model.
- Develop high level project plan and support gate keeping functions for transition from project phase to solution support.
- Advice project manager if needed and coordinate any implementation demands.
- Lead technology implementations along all phases of a project.
- Support the realization of new SAP initiatives like new SAP installations, upgrades, expansions, Roll- Out’s etc.
- Serve as a primary technical liaison to application support and project teams for new requirements. The Technical Analyst/ Architect is responsible for designing applications required to provide a service. This includes the specification of technologies, architectures and data structures.
- Provide technical leadership and consultancy (Technical Solution Design) on the future direction of SAP Integration requirements.

- Minimum of 5 years of hands on technical experience in the area of SAP Technology
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in global projects
- Configuration and implementation experience with one or more of the following:
- Experience with one or more SAP programming languages or tools
- Experience in Production Steady State Support in large SAP environments preferred.
- SAP Technology certification is an asset
- Fluency in English both spoken and written
